We read the spec sheets
We compare power banks, power stations, and solar setups, convert manufacturer figures into numbers you can actually compare, and say honestly what's worth it. So you have power when you need it.
It started with a power bank that said 20,000 mAh on the box and still only charged my phone one and a half times. No defect, no scam. Just a number that says nothing about what actually comes out of the device.
So I started doing the math. mAh into watt-hours, watt-hours minus conversion losses, and suddenly the figures made sense. With power stations and balcony solar it's the same game, only with bigger numbers and more expensive mistakes.
That became Ampcarry. A blog that does the converting for you. We read spec sheets, compare on the same basis, and say what an assessment is based on.
If a device doesn't hold up to its own numbers, we say so. If a cheap model is enough for what you need, we say that too. You should know what you're getting before you pay.
Most sites in this space just pass the manufacturer's number straight through. The bigger the figure, the better the recommendation sounds. We earn from affiliate links too, sure. But we only recommend what we'd buy ourselves.
A 30-euro power bank can be perfectly fine for your phone, while an 800-euro power station fails at running a fridge because its inverter is too weak. Expensive doesn't automatically mean suitable. It depends on what you want to run.

Three ways to find what you're looking for.
A power bank for your phone, a power station for camping, or balcony solar for a rented flat? We sort by use case, not by price.
Honest assessments of power banks, power stations, solar panels, and accessories. With pros and cons.
How to calculate watt-hours properly, protect charge cycles, and transport and store batteries safely.
With the right capacity you save money and stop carrying more weight than you need.
We write for you, not for brands. If a device doesn't hold up to its own numbers, we say so. Even when it earns us less.
Every device has pros and cons. We name both, and we say what our assessment is based on.
You want to know whether the capacity covers your use case. Not 2000 words of filler. We get to the point.
Affiliate links are always marked. You know how we make money.
